Tip: When arriving in the country, it is not always advisable to rent the car immediately from the airport, because after the flight, as a person unfamiliar with the area, you might be looking for your hotel for a while. It is better to take a cab from the airport, get to the hotel quickly and pick up the car the next day rested.
RENTAL CARS IN CUBA
Driver
Required minimum age of driver is 21 years, with two years of driving practice. The maximum allowance is 75 years of age. A second driver is allowed, charges apply.
Insurance
All offers include a rental car insurance or are payable per day of rent. They vary according rental company.
Mileage
According to the rental company, unlimited or limited mileage applies. Additional miles are counted in kilometers and extra kilometers will be charged per km.
One-way rental
One-way rentals are not offered by all rental companies. When offered, usually charges apply.
Passenger insurance
Passenger insurance is not included in any offer. You have this included as a driver in your country or we strongly suggest to get insured in your country.
Pricing
High season runs in winter from November to March and in summer from July to August. The rest of the year is considered low or shoulder season. Like in the rest of the Caribbean, be prepared to pay higher car rental prices than on the mainland.
